This may affect your 2022 Property Taxes
Notice is hereby given that the Local Board of Appeal & Equalization for the
TOWN OF WHITE in St. Louis County, Minnesota
will be meeting on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at 1:00 – 2:00 PM
The physical location of the meeting will held in the Conference Room,
City/Town Government Center, 16 West 2nd Avenue North, Aurora.
However, due to the situation involving the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic,
members of the Local Board of Appeal & Equalization and staff from the
assessor’s office may be attending and participating in the meeting by using electronic,
virtual meeting technology, rather than being at the meeting location in person.
The purpose of this meeting is to determine whether property
in the jurisdiction has been properly valued and classified by the assessor.
If you believe the valuation or classification of your property is incorrect,
please contact the Assessor’s Office in Virginia, MN by phone at
(218) 471-7147 to discuss your concerns prior to this meeting.
If you disagree with the valuation or classification
after discussing it with the Assessor, you may appeal to the Local Board of Appeal & Equalization:
· In writing, mailed to Jodi Knaus, Clerk, at the Township Office at P.O. Box 146, Aurora, MN 55705
In writing, through email to Jodi.Knaus@townofwhite.com
· In person by appearing at the Local Board of Appeal & Equalization meeting on April 22nd.
If you intend to appeal in writing, your written appeal
must be delivered to the Clerk before 1:00 P.M. April 22, 2021
(the starting time of the Local Board of Appeal & Equalization meeting).
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we encourage you to submit
your appeal in writing. However, if you wish to appear in person
before the Local Board of Appeal & Equalization for your appeal, we encourage you to do that
by electronic means or telephone rather than appearing
at the actual meeting location. Please contact Jodi Knaus at
(218) 229-2813 or Jodi.Knaus@townofwhite.com to make
necessary arrangements to appear by telephone or using Zoom technology.
The Board will review your assessments and may make corrections as needed.
Generally, you must appeal to the Local Board before appealing
to the County Board of Appeal and Equalization.
